Meals & Menu

School meals are freshly prepared on site by the Telford & Wrekin Catering Team.

You are able to pre-select the meals that your child(ren) would like from a 3 week rolling menu via ParentPay.

Haughton School is a cashless school.  We cannot accept any dinner money sent into school.  All lunches should be booked and paid for using your ParentPay account please.

School lunches are £2.50 per day.

If your child has any food allergies or special dietary requirements, please inform us as soon as possible.

Pre-booked School Lunches

If you have pre-booked a school lunch for your child on ParentPay and they are absent from school, can you please let us know so that we can cancel the meal off the system.  This will ensure that the school kitchen have accurate numbers and that you will not be charged for the meal (paid meals). Thank you.

Frequently Asked Questions

I don't have any credit on my account.  Will my child still receive a meal?

Parentpay will not allow you to order a lunch if there is insufficient funds on your account - it is imperative that you maintain a credit balance at all times.

We understand there may be the odd, unavoidable occasion when you are unable to credit your child's account.  Please let us know at the earliest available opportunity if you have a problem.  

What will happen if I am unable to select a meal due to technical difficulties?

On the odd occasion you may experience be a technical issue with ParentPay (not allowing you to order at home).  If for any reason you experience this, please don't worry as your child will still be able to choose their meal in class.

What will happen if my child is late or I haven't selected a meal?

Don't worry, your child will be able to select their meal from their classroom, or if registration has closed, from the office.

What happens if my child goes home before lunch and doesn't have their meal?

If your child is not marked as having taken a meal, they will not be charged.

Can my child change their mind once they arrive at school?

In exceptional circumstances the Cook can override the choice at service.

Special Menus / Dietary Requirements

If you have told us that your child needs a differentiated menu for medical reasons or that they have special dietary requirements, this will be added to ParentPay and reflected in the available meal options.

 

If your child is late into school (after morning registration) and he/she needs a school lunch, can you please let a member of the office team know so that their meal can be ordered from the kitchen. (There is no need to do this if the meal has been pre-ordered on ParentPay).

Free / Universal School Meals

All children in Reception, Year 1 & Year 2 are entitled to universal free school meals (government funded). Once your child moves up to Year 3 you will need to start paying for any school meals taken, unless you are financially eligible.
